Semiconductor Process Technology
Registration is still open (six
seats left) for a specialty course that was developed as a
consequence of the Technology Career Paths Hudson Valley
consortium. Please take note as this course was developed
for you and your support is needed.
Semiconductor
Process Technology (DCC ELT211 61.1, index #1925)
This
course is currently featured in our
news section with pictures of the lab experience at the
fabulous research facility at SUNY Albany. A course
description can be found at
2yearcolleges
(bottom of page). It will run on Wednesday evenings,
5:30-9:30pm, at the DCC South campus in Wappingers Falls.
The class begins on August 28 and ends on December 11.
Please talk this course up among your students and employees
if they are at all involved in the semiconductor
manufacturing business! Prerequisites are Electronics I,
Chemistry, and Physics (or permission of instructor).
I recognize that business is
slow, but that makes for a perfect time to send an employee
to further develop their skills! The students coming out of
this course have indicated in course evaluations that they
understand so much more about the process of making chips
even for those who work in the field. A number of electrical
engineers have taken the course since the kind of details
about the manufacturing process discussed in this course are
not typically addressed in engineering courses.
Registration can be completed
online by going to
www.sunydutchess.edu. Please let me know if you have any
questions!
Sincerely,
